A treasure hunt

I won a @cindysherman sticker!

Visiting a gallery is very energizing. The gallerist seems to be inviting you in, saying: “Come see what we like.” Now visiting a collectors’ series of galleries is like having three expressos. And there we were, on that summer afternoon, excited to visit the @rubellmuseum.

On entering, along with the tickets we were offered a piece of paper and pencil. On the paper several drawings of artworks from the collection were printed. The pencil yellow, long, and sharpened looked ready for action. The challenge: find those artworks (about 8) and write next to each the number of the gallery where it’s located. The prize? A sticker of your choice of one of those same drawings that you diligently searched for.

My friend and I accepted the challenge, stepped in and spent time looking at gallery after gallery, excited to see what the collectors have liked along those 58 years of loving contemporary art.
